The Concept

Designed specifically for primary school students, this 3-Day program takes students on an experiential learning journey. From history, science and sports this itinerary keeps young students engaged while learning responsibility and respect. Please note that we can also arrange for a matinee performance at the current Melbourne stage show production.  Please ask us more about this at time of your inquiry.

Itinerary Day By Day

DAY 1 SCHOOL – MELBOURNE (D)

This morning you will be picked up and transferred to Melbourne city centre, Federation Square. Begin your introduction to Melbourne with a visit to the Melbourne Visitor Centre, where you can collect some maps and brochures of Melbourne. Look around Federation Square and visit ACMI, the Australian Centre for the moving image. (Entrance to travelling exhibitions not included.)
This afternoon visit the Rialto Towers. From the Observation Deck you have 360° views across the city and the nearby Dandenong Ranges. Also included is a 20 minute sight and sound show, ‘Melbourne, the Living City’.
Next visit AFL World, taking part in the interactive ‘Training Ground’ program.
Next visit the Shrine of Remembrance for a tour.
Your bus will then pick you up and take you to your accommodation. This evening you will visit the Jam Factory for dinner and have the option to see a movie (at own expense).

DAY 2 MELBOURNE (B, D)

This morning meet your ‘Urban Seed’ guide for an ‘Encountering Melbourne Walk’, providing unique insights into a range of urban social issues. Then on to the Victorian Police Museum for your guided tour. The museum has an exciting collection of artefacts relating to the Kelly Gang outbreak of the 1870’s through to contemporary investigations of events such as the Russell St bombing and Hoddle St shootings of the 1980’s.
Walk up to the Crown casino complex for a look at the fountains, shops and cafes, both inside and outside, then visit Galactic Circus, Australia’s biggest indoor amusement facility, where you will take part in a laser skirmish team activity.
Some time for shopping in the city later this afternoon, before heading to Chinatown for dinner this evening.

DAY 3 MELBOURNE (B)

First, your bus will take you to the Port of Melbourne for your program at the Port Education Centre. Learn about the port and its environment, while having the opportunity to watch ships pass at close quarters. Then experience the atmosphere of the Queen Victoria Market. You can shop for anything from meats to fresh produce from pastries to clothing, leathergoods and souvenirs. Buy your own lunch while you are here.
Before returning home, visit the Nike and Newmans Chocolates factory outlets in Richmond.
Transfer back to school.

EXTRA DAY MELBOURNE (B,L)

After breakfast, spend some time visiting the nearby factory outlets, including Bonds and Siricco Leather. Next visit the National Gallery of Victoria for your guided tour. Transfer to Lygon St, where you may decide to have a cappuccino at Brunetti’s or spend some time wandering along the famous Italian shopping strip. After lunch, you will visit the Melbourne Museum. You can explore a rainforest, see Phar Lap, touch a dinosaur bone or walk onto a set of the TV show Neighbours. Later this afternoon, experience a Telstra Dome tour. Here you will find out about the roof, take a behind the scenes tour to the inner sanctum, visit the Media Centre where tribunal decisions are made and the coaches box. Return to your accommodation.
