The Concept

Singapore is fast becoming a country of interest for Australian STEM teachers as a safe and interesting destination for student groups. Particularly suitable for students in Years 9 to 12, Singapore combines quality STEM experiences as well as history and culture, arts and adventure.

This itinerary has been designed as a 7-day program to fit most Australian city return flight schedules. Additional days may be added to include extra historical experiences such as Changi Museum, Battlebox and the former Ford Factory.

Itinerary Day By Day

DAY 1: AUSTRALIA – SINGAPORE (D)

Depart Australia for Singapore. On arrival at the airport meet our representative who will take you on a tour of Jewel, Changi Airport. You will be introduced to the fascinating sights of the airport including Foggy Bowls, Rain Vortex and Forest Valley. You will also visit the Changi Experience Studio. Board your private coach to transfer to your accommodation.

DAY 2: SINGAPORE (B)

After breakfast visit the Singapore City Gallery situated at the Urban Redevelopment Authority. Here you will uncover the story behind Singapore’s remarkable transformation into one of the most livable cities in Asia. Discover how, through strategic long-term planning, Singapore is physically developing sustainably to achieve a high-quality living environment for its residents.

Afterwards, proceed to the Marina Barrage. Built across the mouth of the marina channel, the Marina Barrage creates Singapore’s 15th reservoir and the first in the heart of the city. With a catchment area of 10,000 hectares, the Marina catchment is the island’s largest and most urbanized catchment. Included is a guided educational tour of the Sustainable Singapore Gallery, Green Roof, Solar Panels, and the Marina Barrage.

Later today you will visit the Gardens by the Bay which will provide you with an opportunity to experience the development of modern Singapore. Set on 54 hectares, the complex consists of two climate conservatories. Appreciate the unique technologies for long term conservation and sustainability. Enjoy the Supertree Grove and two conservatories along with witnessing the evening Garden Rhapsody light and sound show.

DAY 3: SINGAPORE (BD)

After breakfast visit the Singapore Science Centre where you will participate in two STEM workshops.

This evening, transfer by private coach to the Singapore Zoo Night Safari. Enjoy a buffet dinner and night safari tour on the Expedition Tram, before returning to your hotel by private coach.

DAY 4: SINGAPORE (B)

After breakfast your first stop today is at the Singapore Maritime Gallery. Here you will journey through the experiential zones and learn how Singapore transformed into one of the world’s leading international maritime centres with one of the world’s busiest ports.

Continue the day with a visit to the Art Science Museum and discover creativity at its best through art, science, design, media, architecture and technology. Visit the exhibitions Future World and Where Art Meets Science, as well as the VR Gallery experience.

Later today visit the Marina Bay Sands and the Skypark Observation Deck, some 57 levels above the city.

DAY 5: SINGAPORE (B)

After breakfast visit One-North, the Silicon Valley of Singapore. On this tour you will be introduced to One-North and have an exclusive tour of the gallery to learn about the conceptualisation and development of this R&D Business Park. Explore the JTC LaunchPad, a nurturing exosystem designed specifically to encourage the growth of start-ups and industry enablers.

Proceed on to the Singapore Mobility Gallery which features seven exhibition zones and showcases the various facets of Singapore’s transport systems. The gallery gives a behind-the-scenes look at how the Land Transport Authority plans, designs, and builds Singapore’s transport systems.

Later today visit the China Town Night Markets to test your bargaining skills and try some of the various cuisines that Singapore has to offer.

DAY 6: SINGAPORE - AUSTRALIA (B)

After breakfast check out of your accommodation and board your private coach to transfer to the Singapore Airport for your flight to Australia.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Peak season for travel falls between December and June, with "super-peak" beginning in mid-December and lasting through to the Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls in January or February. Singapore F1 is super-peak which is around the last/second last week of September. Schools are recommended to avoid these travel periods.
