The Concept

Would your students like to perform in Japan? Make it happen with this superb itinerary highlighted by a joint performance with a Japanese high school. This itinerary is suitable for orchestra, band or choral/choir groups. We arrange instrument hire with safe, secure transportation throughout the duration of the tour. Most tours will have 3 or 4 performances by your school. Itineraries can vary.


Itinerary Day By Day

DAY 1 AUSTRALIA – TOKYO (D)

Fly from Australia to Tokyo on an overnight flight.

DAY 2 TOKYO

Meet and greet on arrival and private coach transfer to your hotel.
Remainder of the day is free to explore Tokyo under teachers' guidance.

Suggestion: Visit Sensoji Temple & Nakamise shopping street and Tokyo Skytree. You may also like to visit Akihabara also known as “Electric City”.

DAY 3 TOKYO (B)

Today is free to explore Tokyo under teacher’s guidance.

Suggestion: Visit Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Dori, a street lined with fast food outlets and fashion boutique, Shibuya crossing, Edo Tokyo Museum, Disneyland.

DAY 4 TOKYO – MATSUMOTO (B, L, D)

Use your rail pass to travel to Matsumoto. On arrival, meet your co-ordinator at the station and walk to your hotel. Drop off your luggage.
Participate in a soba making workshop and enjoy your creation for lunch.
After lunch, catch a local bus from Matsumoto city office, travel to Museum of Art to enjoy Yayoi Kusama Special Exhibition (entrance not included).
Later, catch a taxi and travel to Suzuki Method HQ. Enjoy a welcome performance by local students. Walk back to the hotel.
Dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 5 MATSUMOTO (B, L, D)

Meet your co-ordinator in the hotel lobby, walk to Matsumoto castle. Enjoy a guided tour of the castle. Walk along Nawate and Nakamachi street, a car free zone lined with small eateries and quirky shops.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, catch a local bus and travel to local school. Enjoy cultural exchange and sport club activities.
Walk back to the hotel.
Dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 6 MATSUMOTO-KYOTO (B, L, D)

Meet your co-ordinator in the hotel lobby, walk to Suzuki Method concert hall. Enjoy a musical performance by local students.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
Walk back to the hotel and pick up your luggage and walk to the train station. Use your rail pass to travel to Kyoto.

DAY 7 KYOTO (B)

Today visit a local high school for a cultural and music exchange.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Japanese performing art show at Gion corner.

DAY 8 KYOTO (B)

Today is free to explore Kyoto under teacher’s guidance.

Suggestion: Visit Nijo Castle, Kinkakuji Temple, Kyoto Imperial Palace and Kiyomizudera Temple

DAY 9 KYOTO – KANSAI – AUSTRALIA (B)

Morning is free to explore Kyoto & surrounds under teacher’s guidance.

Suggestion: Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine.

Depending on your flight schedule, return to your ryokan. Collect your luggage and travel by train to Kansai airport for your flight back home.

DAY 10 AUSTRALIA

Arrive in Australia
