Hobart offers many opportunities for students interested in studying modern and new art. Students will be able to immerse themselves into an art class/art lecture in one of may purpose built art workshops.
Arrive in Hobart this morning. On arrival, meet your Coach Captain and travel to the renowned Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), the largest privately funded museum in Australia. This hugely popular museum displays an eclectic collection of antiquities, modern and contemporary art from the David Walsh collection. Transfer to your accommodation and check in. Take a self-guided walking tour of Salamanca Place, visiting the Salamanca Art Gallery, as well as taking in the sights at Constitution Dock and Battery Point.
Following breakfast, visit the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) for a self-guided walk through the public galleries. After lunch, you will have the opportunity to explore the Contemporary Art Spaces of Tasmania Gallery.
Check out of your accommodation after breakfast this morning, then visit one of Hobart’s many art spaces for an art class or an artist’s talk. Following lunch, travel to the airport by coach for your flight home.
