Offer your students an exciting educational tour of the North Island of New Zealand. Take in the breathtaking scenery and varied topography of this truly unique and diverse environment.

The tour will take you from Auckland to the geothermal wonderland of Rotorua. Your students will travel through key geographical locations, such as Mt Ruapehu where students will learn about the extreme earth events and volcanic and geothermal activity of the North Island.

With an expert tour guide, we will ensure your experience is educational, fun and safe.

DAY 1 SCHOOL - AUCKLAND (D)

Arrive in Auckland and meet your guide. Transfer to the city and enjoy an orientation tour, followed by a climb up Mount Eden, one of Auckland's inactive volcanoes.

DAY 2 RANGITOTO VOLCANO & ONE TREE HILL (B,D)

Catch a ferry to the volcanic island of Rangitoto for a guided tour through rugged lava crop on board a 4WD road-train. You will arrive at the base of the volcano, and from there it is just a short climb to the summit for epic views. Back in Auckland, visit One Tree Hill or Maungakiekie, volcanic peak.

DAY 3 AUCKLAND - ROTORUA (B,D)

Travel to Rotorua where you will explore the geothermal wonderlands. In the evening, you will have a traditional Maori hangi dinner and learn about the history of the local Maori people.

DAY 4 WAIMANGU VOLCANIC VALLEY - TAUPO (B,D)

Visit the Waimangu Volcanic Valley, the world's youngest geothermal valley. After a morning of exploration, head down to Lake Taupo to visit Huka Falls and soak in the natural hot pools and enjoy a view of the lake.

DAY 5 TE WAIROA BURIED VILLAGE (B,D)

Visit the Te Wairoa Buried Village and the Museum of Te Wairoa where records of the Tarawera eruption are displayed. You will have free time this afternoon to enjoy lake Taupo.

DAY 6 TAUPO - TONGARIRO NATIONAL PARK (B,D)

Travel from Taupo to Tongariro National Park. On the way, stop to visit the Turangi Visitor center to see the volcanic exhibit and quake simulations. Upon arrival at the national park, visit to the Whakapapa Visitor Centre.

DAY 7 TONGARIRO NATIONAL PARK (B,D)

Today is free day to explore the Tongariro National Park and enjoy some local walks in this incredible environment.

DAY 8 TONGARIRO NATIONAL PARK - WELLINGTON (B,D)

Travel to Wellington this morning. Visit the Wellington Region Emergency Management Office and take a walking tour of Wellington to see the fault line and uplift visible through the city

DAY 9 WELLINGTON - SCHOOL (B)

Visit the Te Papa Museum and take a guided tour this morning. Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Australia.
