The Concept

Teachers looking for homestay options for their students should consider this superb opportunity located approximately 45 minutes north of Kyoto on the JR Line. Sold as an ‘add-on’ to your itinerary, this 3 day/ 2-night experience provides students with the opportunity to experience life with a Japanese family, and participate in cultural and sporting activities with the local schoolchildren in Ayabe. It is a common theme of our Japan tour feedback from students – homestay is the highlight of their tour, and often wish they could spend more time with their host families. The homestay add-on includes 2 nights homestay with Japanese family, 3 meals per day and school exchange

*Please note that this homestay program is also available as a 4D/3N program. The 4 Day program includes an excursion to Kurotani to witness the making of handmade washi paper, a process unchanged over 400 years.
