The Concept

G.E.T Educational Tours, in conjunction with our international partner MMExProM, is offering a unique international student experience. For 3-5 days Australian students will experience the life as a local Italian student and attend a local Italian school (scuola superiore).

Today’s students are global learners, and their learning should not be confined to the classroom, or simply an international language school. This collaborative experience offers Australian schools an opportunity to work closely with an Italian school in Italy. Students will attend the Italian school and take part in a school project led by experienced teaching staff.

A suitable school and location is selected by our experienced partners, who are both secondary school teachers in Italy and Australia, and have been organising programs for over 15 years. You will then work closely with the Australian based teacher, on the theme of the school project. Students will work collaboratively as they explore their chosen theme based on your curriculum and CLIL principles.

Students will attend morning group classes with their new Italian friends. Students will be speaking Italian and will use their knowledge of grammar and vocabulary whilst working on their chosen project with their Italian partner school. In the afternoons activities are organised in conjunction with the Italian school. Your new friends will guide you around their town and show you how they live locally.  This creates the opportunity of a continual school collaboration. Not only can Australian schools visit Italy but can also arrange to accept Italian students in Australia.

The options and opportunities are endless!

Please note:

You have the opportunity, along with the students from the Italian school, to visit neighbouring cities, museum, attractions or attend evening activities. These may incur an extra cost for entrances and / or transport.

Projects can also be tailored to cross curriculum students who may be studying for example, Art, History, Religion or food technology, to work alongside Italian students studying English.

Programs can also be based around National Curriculum / VCE Study Designs and also an introduction to the detailed study component of the unit four oral for languages.

On request CLIL or multi-faculty conferencing or job shadowing for teachers can be organised.

Lunches are not included.
