Museum of Australian Democracy
Through a range of innovative exhibitions, tours and programs, students will journey through the history of democracy in Australia. Understanding it’s past, present and future possibilities, students will be inspired and challenged.
A visit to the nation’s most important building is a must for students. A first-hand look at democracy and lawmaking while experiencing impressive architecture and artwork within Parliament House.
The Australian War Memorial is a national war memorial and museum dedicated to all Australians who died as a result of war. Students will learn about the sacrifices of more than 100,000 Australian men and women who have died serving our country along with the history of Australians at war.
Australian Institute of Sport (AIS)
The AIS is a high-performance sports training institution. Through touring the AIS students will learn what it takes to become a high-performance athlete- you might even spot one of Australia’s top athletes in action!
National Gallery of Australia (NGA)
The NGA is home to the most valuable art collection in Australia. With over 160,000 works of art, the NGA is dedicated to collecting, sharing and celebrating Australian art and art from the around the world.
With over 50 lifelike dinosaur models, full skeletons, skulls and robotic dinosaurs that move and roar, students will learn how dinosaurs lived, evolved, interacted, what they ate and how they became extinct.
Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex (CDSSC)
Students will learn about the role that Australia plays in the exploration of space in a fun visual and interactive environment. The CDSCC was built to support interplanetary spacecraft exploring the Solar System.
Questacon – National Science and Technology Centre
Questacon is an interactive science centre with more than 200 exhibits. Its educational programs focus on science, technology and innovation through fun interactive activities.
National Electoral Education Centre
Students will learn about the history of democracy and voting in Australia. As part of the education program offered, they will experience the election process first hand by running their own election. Students will vote, count the vote and declare a winner. This allows students to understand the election process and the importance of voting.
