• Indonesia is made up of over 17,000 islands, making it the largest island country in the world.
• Despite Indonesia's tropical climate, its highest peak, Puncal Jaya, is tall enough to sustain permanent glaciers and year-round snow.
• Lake Toba in Northern Sumatra is one of the largest volcanic lakes on Earth.
• Over 700 local languages are spoken across Indonesia, with Bahasa Indonesia serving as the official national language.
