DAY 1: AUSTRALIA - CHRISTCHURCH

Fly to Christchurch. On your arrival meet your guide and coach driver. Start your adventure with a city orientation tour then its off to your overnight accommodation.

DAY 2: CHRISTCHURCH - TWIZEL (B)

After breakfast you will spend the day taking in the views along the road to Twizel through the Southern Alps. See Mount John, Lake Tekapo, Mount Cook and Lake Pukaki. Travel on to your overnight accommodation.

DAY 3: TWIZEL - QUEENSTOWN (B)

After breakfast explore the town of Twizel and its many filming locations before travelling to Queenstown via Arrowtown and the Kawarau River (site of River Anduin in the movies). See where the Pillars of Argonath sat marking Gondor’s border.

This evening take the Skyline Gondola for breathtaking views over Lake Wakatipu and enjoy three thrilling luge rides. Travel to your accommodation for the next two nights.

DAY 4: QUEENSTOWN (B)

After breakfast venture over to Glenorchy and explore the area that served as Isengard in The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy on a 4WD safari.

The remainder of the day will be free for project work or to explore Queenstown. Return to your accommodation for the night.

DAY 5: QUEENSTOWN - TE ANAU (B)

After breakfast travel to Te Anau and continue on to Kepler Mire, the location used to depict Dead Marshes, the ancient battlefield outside Morodor.

This evening experience a mysterious underground world with a guided tour of the glowworm caves. Travel to your overnight accommodation.

DAY 6: TE ANAU - QUEENSTOWN (B)

After breakfast explore the real Fangorn Forest where remote cameras were strung from high wires to film Aragorn moving through the trees. Return to Queenstown to check in to your overnight accommodation, followed by some free time for project work.

DAY 7: QUEENSTOWN - AUCKLAND (B)

After breakfast take a morning flight to Auckland where the remainder of the day will be spent exploring with your guide on your private coach. Enjoy an orientation tour and a climb up Mount Eden, followed by a visit to the Skytower for epic views of the city. Travel on to your overnight accommodation.

DAY 8: AUCKLAND - ROTORUA (BD)

After breakfast start your journey to Rotorua. On your way you will get to experience the real Middle Earth on a guided tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set. Travel to your overnight accommodation to check in.

In the evening travel to Te Puia for an immersive Maori cultural show and an authentic Hangi dinner. Return to your accommodation.

DAY 9: ROTORUA - TONGARIRO NATIONAL PARK (B)

After breakfast visit the Wai-O-Tapu thermal wonderland. Continue on to Tongariro National Park where you will see Mount Ngauruhoe, which was digitally transformed to create Mount Doom. Enroute you will also get to see the mighty Huka Falls in Taupō. Travel to your overnight accommodation.

DAY 10: TONGARIRO NATIONAL PARK - WELLINGTON (B)

After breakfast you will be treated to magnificent views of Mount Ruapehu, Mount Tongariro and Mount Ngauruhoe on your journey south to Wellington. Enjoy an orientation tour on arrival and amazing views from Mount Victoria. Travel on to your accommodation for the next two nights.

DAY 11: WELLINGTON (B)

After breakfast marvel at the huge range of movie merchandise in the Weta Cave and see the masters at work on a tour of the Weta Workshop. This afternoon enjoy a guided tour of Te Papa, the internationally acclaimed cultural museum with a wealth of interactive exhibitions and displays. Return to your accommodation.

DAY 12: WELLINGTON - AUSTRALIA (B)

After breakfast check out of your accommodation and visit a local school or university for a tailored educational program and project work before you transfer to the airport for your return flight to Australia.
