The Concept

Experience modern war history brought to startling life in this definitive tour of world war sites in Europe. This 14-day tour begins in Nürnberg with its Nazi Rally grounds and the court rooms of the Nürnberg trails. German tour highlights include the Documentation Obersalzberg, a museum of National Socialism in Berchtesgaden and the Dachau Memorial. Students then travel to Belguim via Amsterdam and visit the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and the Belgium battlefields. The tour then continues to the Somme and finishes in Paris with a focus on the occupation. Alongside the formal itinerary there are plenty of opportunities for students to explore other fascinating sites and experience local food, art and customs.

Designed for secondary school history students, you will understand the circumstances war could develop in, witness how Europe has recovered and developed from both wars, learn more about relations between France and Germany today, and the meaning of WWI and WWII in current time. The itinerary has been carefully planned to be cost efficient.
