The Concept

The Space Academy prepares students for life after school through an immersive experience in science, technology, engineering and math.The highlight of this incredible 11-day tour features a stay at Space Camp, where students spend time living as an astronaut. Students will experience a variety of astronaut training exercises, engineering challenges and teambuilding activities culminating in a simulated space mission. 

Students will spend time in the Orbiter, exploring Space Station and Mission Control simulators, and participating in many hands-on workshops relevant to your school curriculum.

Itinerary Day By Day

DAY 1 AUSTRALIA – ORLANDO (WEDNESDAY) (D)

Check in for your flight to Orlando, Florida. On arrival transfer by coach to your accommodation. The rest of the day spend relaxing at the hotel. Dinner tonight is included at the hotel.

DAYS 2 ORLANDO (B,D)

After breakfast transfer to iFly for your STEM related educational program and take part in an exciting simulated sky dive in a wind tunnel. After lunch transfer to the Orlando Science Centre which includes entry to all four floors of interactive Exhibit Galleries. Transfer back to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 3 ORLANDO (B,D)

After breakfast, today is a free day at your teachers’ discretion. You may choose to visit either Universal Studios or Disneyworld (entrance fees and transport not included). Dinner tonight is at your hotel.

DAY 4 ORLANDO (B,D)

After breakfast, travel by coach to Kennedy Space Centre at Cape Canaveral. Spend the day exploring the Space Centre. While you are there, visit the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, Space Shuttle Atlantis and enjoy the Shuttle Launch Experience and an IMAX movie presentation. You will also have the opportunity to hear firsthand about life in space as you enjoy lunch with a NASA astronaut. Transfer back to the hotel for dinner.

DAY 5 ORLANDO – HUNTSVILLE (SUNDAY) (B,L,D)

After breakfast transfer to Orlando Airport for your domestic flight to Atlanta. Upon arrival meet your coach and transfer to Huntsville Space Camp, where you will register for your weeklong experience. Accommodation will be in dormitory style rooms purpose designed for school groups.

DAY 6 - 9 HUNTSVILLE (B,L,D)

Spend the week living the life of an astronaut! The Space Camp program is specifically designed for students and tailored to suit all year levels and curriculums. Students will experience real-life Astronaut training and spend time rotating through the Orbiter, Space Station and Mission Control simulators. Design and test a virtual Mars Rover utilising computer and engineering skills. Experience the weightlessness of gravity through underwater scuba diving (age restrictions apply) and flight simulators, plus many more life-changing experiences. During your five nights at the academy, all meals are provided.

DAY 10 HUNTSVILLE – AUSTRALIA (B,L)

After breakfast, participate in the Advanced Space Academy Astronaut Graduation Ceremony and receive your certificate. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the Space Camp Museum. Later this afternoon transfer by coach to the Airport and check in for your flight home to Australia.
