The Concept

Immerse yourself in Visual Art and Culture on this stunning tour of European art and the cities that inspired her most famous artists. The tour begins in Paris visiting some of the world’s most famous art galleries, before arriving in Barcelona to admire the work of Antoni Gaudi. Students will then experience the stunning Renaissance Art of Florence and Rome, experiencing a range of diverse art and gaining a strong understanding of the circumstances and surroundings that art was created in, what inspired the artists and better able to identify and compare different styles and epochs.

Itinerary Day By Day

DAY 1 AUSTRALIA - PARIS

Depart Australia for Paris.

DAY 2 PARIS (D)

On arrival, you will be met by your guide and board your private coach for a city sights tour. Your coach will then take you to your accommodation. The remainder of the day is allocated as leisure time at your teachers' discretion.

DAY 3 PARIS (B, D)

After breakfast, travel on the RER train to Versailles. Meet your guide and commence your guided tour of the Palace. Return to Paris by RER during the afternoon, and enjoy the remainder of the day as leisure time at your teachers' discretion.

DAYS 4 PARIS (B, D)

Today is allocated as a free day to explore the museums and galleries of Paris.

DAY 5 PARIS – BARCELONA (B, D)

After breakfast, check out of your accommodation and board your private coach for Auvers and Giverny. You will visit Vincent Van Gough’s house in Auvers, where he painted some of his most famous artworks, and also stop in Giverny to visit Claude Monet’s home. Then it’s onto Paris airport for your afternoon flight to Barcelona. On arrival, transfer by private coach to your accommodation.

DAY 6 BARCELONA (B, D)

After breakfast, meet your local guide and visit some of Barcelona’s most famous sites including La Sagrada Familia and Museo Picasso. You will have a private coach for the first half-day of this tour, before continuing to explore Barcelona on foot with your guide in the afternoon. This is recommended as the best way to see the highlights of Gaudi’s work in and around Barcelona city. Return to your hotel later that afternoon and prepare for dinner.

DAY 7 BARCELONA (B, D)

Meet your guide after breakfast and travel by public transport to the MACBA and Park Guell, before proceeding to the Foundation Miro. Return to your hotel later this afternoon by public transport, and enjoy the remainder of the day as leisure time at your teachers' discretion.

DAY 8 BARCELONA – FLORENCE (B, D)

Check out after breakfast and transfer by private coach to Barcelona Airport for your flight to Florence.
On arrival meet your guide and transfer by private coach to your accommodation.
Enjoy the remainder of the day as leisure time at your teachers' discretion.

DAY 9 FLORENCE (B, D)

Meet your local guide after breakfast for a half day guided walking tour. Your tour will end at either the Uffizi Gallery or the Accademia Gallery. The Uffizi is home to the greatest collections of paintings in Italy, and student will also enjoy seeing the Statue of David by Michelangelo at the Accademia Gallery. Return to your hotel later this afternoon, and enjoy the remainder of the day as leisure time at your teachers’ discretion.

DAY 10 FLORENCE (B, D)

There is so much to see and do in Florence, so we have allocated today as a leisure day. Our groups welcome the opportunity to explore the city at their own pace. Why not combine a fun group activity and dinner by taking a pizza making class later this afternoon?

DAY 11 FLORENCE – SAN GIMIGNANO – ROME (B, D)

Checkout of your accommodation after breakfast and board your private coach for your visit to the spectacular hilltop town of San Gimignano. Spend some time in this beautiful town admiring the 12th century medieval towers before continuing onto Rome. Arrive later afternoon, depending on the traffic.

DAY 12 ROME (B, D)

After breakfast meet your local guide and begin your half day walking tour of Rome, visiting the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Use your 2 day public transport pass to travel around this morning. The afternoon is allocated as leisure time at your teachers' discretion.

DAY 13 ROME (B, D)

Meet your guide at the Vatican. Commence your guided tour of The Vatican Museum, St. Peter’s Basilica and The Sistine Chapel (entrance Included, school letter required). Return to your hotel, where you will enjoy the remainder of the day as leisure at your teachers' discretion.

DAY 14 ROME – AUSTRALIA (B)

After breakfast, transfer by private coach to the airport and check into your flight to Australia.

DAY 15 AUSTRALIA

Arrive in Australia, subject to airline schedules.
